On August 12, 2016, World Travel, Inc. became one of the first U.S. companies to be listed on the Privacy Shield Framework site, www.privacyshield.gov, which is managed by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA). World Travel, Inc. was listed alongside other early adopters like Microsoft and Salesforce.
World Travel, Inc. has a commitment to privacy, particularly with respect to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and the benefit of our multinational customers, so we agreed to the Framework purposefully as an early adopter. As a Global Travel Management Company specializing in the mid-market, we recognize the importance of having a clear framework to exchange information with EU countries that businesses of all sizes can meet. For World Travel, Inc., the Framework is one of the building blocks we use to provide our multinational customers with assurances that we are committed to data privacy. We are also willing to execute agreements that incorporate the EU Model clauses. Alternately, in some instances, we have agreed to simply apply applicable foreign law. We are proud to work with our clients to ensure safe transfer of data.
