With the recent GBTA endorsement regarding 2021 Hotel RFP season many travel buyers are left to question how they should manage their processes.  Although we respect those involved in that decision, we do not necessarily agree with GBTA’s stance and are fully prepared to manage our clients 2021 hotel programs.

The 2021 Hotel RFP process will be very different than it ever was, and we need to ensure that we pay particular attention to traveler safety.  Questions around revised and updated hotel cleanliness procedures need to be addressed and should include not only cleanliness in guest rooms, but also public areas and restaurants as well as contact-less check-in capabilities.

We believe that 2021 presents opportunities to negotiate more flexible pricing terms and conditions including removal of blackout dates and relaxed cancellation policies.  Travel managers should also consider dynamic pricing (percentage off best available rate) as we believe rates will continue to be unstable for 2021.   We have learned that most hotel chains will be ready to handle the RFP process although some will be with a later start (Late Q3/Early Q4) than normal.

Our team looks forward to the opportunity to work with our valued clients to ensure a successful 2021 RFP season.
