China Travel Recovery and Possible Second Wave in Beijing China, which was first to see the widespread impact of COVID-19, and first to emerge from the pandemic is returning to some normalcy with travel. Last week Chinese flights were only 18% below where they were a year ago. As the country sees another wave of the virus hit Beijing, there are still many reasons to remain positive. Read More.  Japan to Restart Business Travel Japan decided Thursday to ease some restrictions on business travel, starting with countries having relatively few coronavirus cases rather than major destinations that would present logistical or diplomatic challenges. Read More.  Some European Countries Making Special Arrangements for Business Travelers  All European Union member states currently operate blanket bans on visitors from outside Europe, and many European nations continue to ban visitors from other European countries or allow them entry only if they undergo quarantine. Read More.  Business Travelers Want Rapid Trip Resumption  Only 3 percent of regular business travelers are totally unwilling to travel in the current coronavirus-afflicted environment, according to a survey from Copenhagen-based travel management consortium TravelpoolEurope. Read More.   How to Reduce Your Risk of Infection The World Health Organization recommends the following as precautions to reduce your risk of infection: Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing seek medical care early and share previous travel history with your health care provider When visiting live markets in areas currently experiencing cases of coronavirus, avoid direct unprotected contact with live animals and surfaces in contact with animals The consumption of raw or under-cooked animal products should be avoided. Raw meat, milk or animal organs should be handled with care, to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods, as per good food safety practices.
