The world continues to see the impact of coronavirus. Fortunately, in many cases, we are witnessing global governments respond in-kind to support our industry, its businesses (large and small), and our employees.

  • Denmark will pay up to 75% of employee salaries at private companies affected by the pandemic
  • The Australian government has pledged $84 billion AUS in stimulus measures, including small business payments
  • Launching one of the most extensive economic rescue packages in the world is Germany, at $825 billion USD. The stimulus package is intended to spur lending and support workers.
  • In the UK, the government is paying up to 80% of workers' wages
  • The United States government recently passed the CARES Act, a $2+ trillion USD stimulus package (the largest ever) for businesses and employees
How to Reduce Your Risk of Infection
The World Health Organization recommends the following as precautions to reduce your risk of infection:
  • Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water
  • When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough
  • If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing seek medical care early and share previous travel history with your health care provider
  • When visiting live markets in areas currently experiencing cases of coronavirus, avoid direct unprotected contact with live animals and surfaces in contact with animals
  • The consumption of raw or under-cooked animal products should be avoided. Raw meat, milk or animal organs should be handled with care, to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods, as per good food safety practices.
