2. British Airways Resumes Service to Parts of Gulf Region

As news of coalition forces’ successes in Iraq continue to be announced, British Airways said it was resuming non-stop services to parts of the Gulf region. The airline re-introduced non-stop flights from London to Abu Dhabi, Bahrein and Dubai. Although services to Kuwait remain suspended, BA said the changes are part of plans to restore all its flights to the Gulf countries.

3.  Airlines Adjust Change Policies

In light of the situation in Iraq the airlines have started to adjust their change policies. The attached document shows the latest changes and revisions that have taken place as of April 17.

4. Terror Alert Lowered

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) lowered the terror alert level from orange to yellow yesterday because U.S. and coalition forces have control of much of Iraq. The terror alert level had been at orange, or high risk, since March 17. Travelers are starting to book summer vacations as the war in Iraq winds down. The airlines noticed an increase in sales on Wednesday as summer sales were introduced.
