Featured Destination...St. Lucia

St. Lucia, one of the Windward Islands, in the Caribbean has much to offer from its natural beauty, lush volcanic mountains, tropical rain forest and excellent beaches.

My husband and I went to St. Lucia in the beginning of February for a week. We have both been to five other Caribbean Islands, and we’re in agreement that St. Lucia may be our favorite island. St. Lucia has the best of both worlds, beautiful beaches and incredible mountains. We hired a driver to take us around the entire island and this was a seven hour adventure. We went through the rain forest and stopped to see the famous volcano. They say if you splash in the volcanic mineral water it takes ten years off your age, so I did it!

We stayed at Sandals Golf and Beach Resort in a one-bedroom hillside suite. We had a great view of the ocean and our own fully stocked mini bar that they replenished everyday. They have the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. The grounds on the resort were immaculate and the amenities, entertainment and food were great.

The St. Lucian people are warm and friendly, their motto is "No Pressure No Problem" and they stand by it. I’m not one to repeat an island since there are so many more to see, but this one just might be worth it.
